Project Kushalya Workshop

Project EKA Foundation recognized as one of the Top 5 best NGOs in India doing remarkable work in the social space, recently conducted a Crafts Workshop at Yamuna Khadar, Delhi as a part of its community initiative-Project Kushalya. Project Kushalya focuses on cultivating self-sustainable individuals. EKA initiates and supports several vocational programs for the citizen-sector, trains them and work with its partners to create job opportunities and livelihoods for them.

When you have an intent to share all you need is a will and big heart.

This was Eka’s first attempt to bring about 45+ women together and help them learn a new skill, channelize their time and energy towards creating something useful, and eventually getting the required support to become independent and self-sustainable.

The workshop was quite engaging and interactive, and they learned how to sew cloth bags and cloth doormats as a part of group activity.

The participants displayed a lot of enthusiasm during the session and were extremely delighted to understand the nuances of cutting, stitching, and braiding.

A session is truly a successful when we have the participants craving for more and so was this workshop. Everyone showed great interest in learning more and requested for more classes to be conducted. This reassured all of us at Eka that we have an endearing project at hand and we are in this for a long haul.

EKA shares a special bond with Yamuna Khadar and has been touching lives through several community programs in the area such as running a school with ~300 children.

The Yamuna Khadar community is a very enthusiastic group eager and willing to learn new skills and putting them to use. Standing true to EKA’s vision of building human capacities, EKA’s goal through this workshop is to help these families understand the concept of recycling and how to create useful materials out of waste, which have a retail presence.

Because of you we can do what we do—Serve Communities by uniting, sharing, and empowering.
We Thank You.
